Organizations & teams
An organization is a customer's workspace: "Spice Route Restaurants" or "Acme Offices". People join with their own Webrizen account, and what they can do is decided by their roles in that organization.
Organizations
Anyone can create an organization from Organizations → New organization. The creator becomes its owner. A person can belong to many organizations and switch between them from the switcher at the top of the sidebar.
Each organization has a name, a URL-safe slug and an optional logo. Apps receive all three
in the org claim.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Members per organization | 1,000 |
| Teams per organization | 100 |
| Custom roles per organization | 50 |
Inviting people
From Members → Invite members:
- Paste one or more email addresses (commas or new lines).
- Pick a role, built-in or custom, and optionally a team.
- Each person gets an email with an Accept invitation link, valid for 48 hours.
People without an account are asked to create one with the invited email address. Invitations can be resent or revoked from the Invitations tab. Re-inviting someone cancels their older pending invitation.
An invitation can only be accepted by an account whose email matches the invited address.
Members
The member table shows each person's roles, teams and join date, with search and a role filter. People with the right permissions can:
- Change roles. Members can hold several roles and get the combined permissions.
- Remove members. They lose access to the organization in every product immediately on their next token refresh or sign-in.
Only an owner can grant the owner role.
Teams
Teams group people inside an organization: a department ("HR"), a shift ("Kitchen – Night") or a location ("Andheri branch"). Create teams under Teams, then add members.
Apps receive team membership in the token as org.teams, which is handy for scoping data:
a branch manager's app can show only their branch's orders.
Teams group people; roles grant permissions. Use a team for "who", a role for "what they can do".
Leaving and deleting
- Members can leave from Settings → Leave organization. The last remaining owner can't leave: make someone else an owner first.
- Owners can delete the organization after typing its slug to confirm. Members, teams, roles and invitations are removed permanently.
